STRUCTURE OF UNILAG SCHOOL FEES PAYMENT FOR MEDIDCINE AND SURGERY (MBBS)
The school fees generally termed as obligatory fees is sectioned into registration, identity card, examinations, library services, Information technology & entrepreneurship, laboratory, accreditation, medical services, endowment funds, sports and TISHIP (Tertiary Institution Social Health Insurance Programme). The total sum up of all categories make up the obligatory fees.
ACCEPTANCE FEE INTO UNILAG
An acceptance fee of N20,000 being the first payment to be made to the institution is very important and must be made within 2-3 weeks of when students’ admission is confirmed. Failure to keep to payment schedule automatically leads to forfeiting of admission.
SCHOOL FEES FOR NEW STUDENTS
Newly admitted undergraduate students are to pay an approved obligatory fee of N176,300 and utility charges of N20,000. New students are also required to make a payment of N10,000 for toxicology test during screening. Details are shown below:

Installment plan and procedure for school fees payment
UNILAG has a flexible payment that allows payment installment for all students.
For new students who chose the instalment payment plan, they are required to pay the following
- Utility fee in full
- Toxicology fee in full
- 50% of the obligatory fees
Returning students of Medicine and Surgery or related fields will pay in the following format

- 50% of the obligatory fees

Admission into unilag to study medicine and surgery or related courses requires a set of qualifications.
Jamb Requirement
- Candidates must score above 280 to stand a good chance of being admitted
- Candidates must have ensured that the selection of examination subjects for UTME (unified tertiary matriculation examination) includes English language, Chemistry, Biology and Maths/Physics
O’level Requirement
Candidates are required to have a pass in core science subjects; Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry and English Language
A’level Requirement
- Pass in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/zoology
- Addition of UTME result with a score above required cut off mark
Post UTME Aggregate Score
Score should be around 75-80% to qualify for medicine and surgery
