Overview of BUK Admission Cut-Off Points

Bayero University Kano has officially set the minimum cut-off mark for the 2025/2026 admission exercise at 160 for most courses. However, highly competitive programs such as Medicine, Nursing, Law, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Engineering require much higher scores.

Method of Application for BUK Screening 2025/2026

The screening process for both UTME and Direct Entry candidates is done online via the Bayero University Kano portal.

Steps for Application

Step 1: Login

  • Visit the BUK official website.
  • Click on 2025 UTME Online Screening Exercise.

Step 2: Profile Update

  • Login using your UTME Registration Number as username and your UTME aggregate score as password.
  • Upload your recent passport photograph (the one used for JAMB will be valid throughout your stay).

Step 3: Payment of Screening Fee

  • Generate and download your Personalized Payment Invoice (PPI).
  • Pay a ₦2,000 screening fee online using Remita (via Debit/Credit Card, Internet Banking, or Bank Payment).
  • Print out your acknowledgement slip after payment.

Important Things to Note

  1. Candidates must upload their O’Level results (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, NBAIS) on JAMB CAPS.
  2. False information will lead to disqualification.
  3. A maximum of two sittings is allowed for O’Level results.
  4. Blind and foreign candidates are exempted from aptitude tests but must register online.
  5. Inquiries should be directed to the official email on the BUK portal.
  6. Candidates who fail to register within the stipulated date will not be considered.

Direct Entry (DE) Screening for 2025/2026

Candidates who applied for Direct Entry admission through JAMB and selected Bayero University Kano as their First Choice must also undergo an online screening exercise between Monday, 4th August 2025, and Sunday, 24th August 2025.

Eligibility Requirements for DE Candidates

  1. National Diploma (ND) – Minimum of Upper Credit (acceptable into all faculties except MBBS and Dentistry).
  2. Ordinary Diploma – Acceptable only into Law (Minimum Upper Credit).
  3. Higher National Diploma (HND) – Minimum of Lower Credit (acceptable into all faculties excluding MBBS, Dentistry, and Allied Health Sciences).
  4. NCE (Nigeria Certificate in Education) – Minimum of 9 points (for Life/Physical Sciences and Agriculture) and 10 points (for Arts, Humanities, and Education).
