Worried about how to calculate UNN aggregate score for 2025?

Don’t worry, In this guide, I’ll walk you through a super easy method to figure it out step by step so you can know exactly where you stand and start prepping like a pro.

How to Calculate UNN Aggregate Score in 2025

Your aggregate score is what the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) uses to decide if you qualify for the course you applied for.

Think of it like your final grade in secondary school. It’s a combo of your:

  • JAMB/UTME Score
  • Post-UTME Score
  • UNN takes these two and calculates your aggregate to see if you meet the cutoff mark for your course.

Steps On How To Calculate UNN Aggregate Score

  • Divide your JAMB score by 8
  • Divide your Post-UTME score by 2
  • Add both scores together after division
  • The total is your UNN aggregate score
  • Here’s the formula:
    • Aggregate Score = (JAMB Score / 8) + (Post-UTME Score / 2)

Note: UNN gives 50% weight to your UTME and 50% to your Post-UTME. Like equal importance

For Example

Let’s say you scored:

  • JAMB Score: 240
  • Post-UTME Score: 60

Calculation:

  • JAMB: 240 ÷ 8 = 30
  • Post-UTME: 60 ÷ 2 = 30
  • Aggregate Score = 30 + 30 = 60
  • That means your final aggregate is 60%.

UNN Cutoff Marks For All Courses

CourseTarget Aggregate Score
Medicine & Surgery75 – 85
Law70 – 78
Pharmacy70 – 80
Nursing70 – 78
Accounting65 – 72
Computer Science65 – 72
Mass Communication65 – 73
Education Courses50 – 60

Note: Cut-off marks change yearly depending on performance and number of applicants.

Mistakes You Must Avoid

  • Don’t Depend on Just JAMB
    • Even if you score 300 in UTME, a poor Post-UTME can ruin your chances.
  • Don’t Wait for Others to Calculate It For You
    • Be proactive. Use the formula. Know where you stand.
  • Don’t Apply Blindly
    • Research the previous year’s cutoff mark for your course. Apply smart, not just with vibes.

Tip On How To Get Admission In UNN

Look, gaining admission into UNN isn’t magic, it’s strategy.

  • Understand the process, prepare well for both JAMB and Post-UTME, and always calculate your chances before you apply.
  • Don’t wait till the last minute. The earlier you know how to calculate your aggregate score, the better you can prepare to crush it.
  • Practice UNN Post-UTME Past Questions PDF.
