The aim of the UTME syllabus in Christian Religious Studies is to prepare candidates for the Board’s examination by assessing their understanding and application of Christian faith.
The syllabus focuses on achieving the following objectives:
- Acquire Knowledge: Understand the tenets of the Christian faith as contained in the Bible.
- Interpret Biblical Teachings: Analyze biblical teachings and themes.
- Apply Teachings to Society: Apply biblical lessons to life in society.
- Evaluate Application: Assess the level of application of biblical principles in society.
Syllabus Structure
The syllabus is divided into four sections:
- Section A: Themes from Creation to the Division of the Kingdom
- Section B: Themes from the Division of the Kingdom to the Return from Exile and the Prophets
- Section C: Themes from the Four Gospels and Acts of the Apostles
- Section D: Themes from Selected Epistles
SECTION A: Themes from Creation to the Division of the Kingdom
1. The Sovereignty of God
