Who is a Field Credit Officer (FCO)?
A Field Credit Officer is responsible for the on-the-ground implementation of credit operations. This includes evaluating loan applications, assessing customers’ creditworthiness, recovering payments, and building relationships with clients. As an FCO, you will be Moniepoint’s primary representative in various communities and business areas.
This position is crucial in ensuring the safe disbursement and recovery of loans, and plays a vital role in expanding the company’s lending portfolio.
Key Responsibilities of a Field Credit Officer
- Conduct field visits and evaluate creditworthiness of loan applicants
- Ensure timely collection of repayments and manage delinquent accounts
- Analyze financial statements and background information of applicants
- Build strong relationships with customers to promote repayment culture
- Provide daily and weekly reports to the Credit Manager
- Work with other departments to streamline the credit process
Minimum Requirements
- HND or B.Sc in any discipline (Economics, Finance, or Business preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year experience in field credit operations, loan recovery, or sales
- Must own an Android smartphone
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to speak the local language of the area of deployment is an advantage
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
